Action Pack (fanfic)

Action Pack is a crossover of Naruto and The Spectacular Spider-Man set in comic book format. It starts off in Konoha, but due to one decision, the OC Kira and Naruto resign from the ninja roster and take up residence in New York City. This is where the worlds start to change due to the butterfly effect and effectively turn the world on its head.

Tropes used in Action Pack (fanfic) include:

• Absurdly Youthful Mother: Kushina looks very good for a woman her age…that is if people actually knew how old she was, as even her own children don’t know.
• Abuse Is Okay When Its Female On Male: Kira proceeds to tear Sakura a new one about how this is not okay and in a noticeably kinder tone tells Naruto that it isn’t okay for him to let her hit him.
• Action Duo: Naruto and Peter.
• A Day in The Life: This is how the first chapter starts the story off with Kira making his food and sorting out the fridge.
• Adorkable: Peter is this the first time he’s introduced.
• Adults Are Useless: Kira has this attitude, and the only exceptions are his parents (birth mother included) and Anko. He even states that unless you’re no longer a teen, meaning that if you’re still under twenty, then you can’t really be considered an adult.
• Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Kira will often pat Naruto on the head to show his affection.
• Aloof Big Brother: While Kira seems like this at first glance, it is clear to anyone who looks hard enough that Kira shows how much he cares for Naruto with every decision he makes.
• Alternate Universe: Yes.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: “Was it because of his age, his lack of experience, or because he couldn’t fry a hamburger and fries? “
• Asian Rudeness: Kira plays this straight while Kushina and Naruto subvert it.
• Asian Speekee Engrish: Averted as all three Uzumaki’s are able to speak English before they arrived in New York.
• Badass Adorable: Naruto.
• Basement Dweller: Kira’s room is the basement of the house they live in when in New York.
• Beneath the Mask: Naruto is cheerful and happy-go-lucky on the outside, but emotionally damaged on the inside from all of his failed attempts to fit with his Konoha classmates.
• Big Brother Instinct: Kira shows very a very early age that he is protective of his brother.
• Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Naruto, Kira, and Kushina.
  • Another variant comes from Minato, Kira’s birth mother, and Kushina.
• Blue Eyes: In both Naruto’s normal form and the form he lets people see, he has blue eyes with both, just in different shades.
• Blue Blood: Kira.
• Born Lucky: Both Naruto and Kira, which is rather cruel considering that it doesn’t apply to ‘real life’ and only to chance.
• Brought Down to Normal: Once a month, Kira becomes completely human. It’s furthermore a Deconstruction as the month beforehand catches up to him and he spends most of the day sleeping and acting more tired than usual.
• Carnival of Killers: The Konoha Civilian council puts a bounty on the Uzumaki’s heads and they start to get hunted down.
• Color Character: Naruto’s alter ego is called ‘Black Fox.’
• Crazy Prepared: Kira managed to set up a place to live in New York in the span of almost two days. It’s not so farfetched if you think about the fact Kira never even liked Konoha and would have made sure to have someplace to relocate to.
• Crossover: Between The Spectacular Spider-Man and Naruto.
• Cuddle Bug: Naruto is not afraid of showing just how much he cares about the people in his life.
• Cute Little Fangs: Whenever Kira smiles, his teeth are always the first thing people notice. Granted though that they only people who ever see him smiling are Kushina and Naruto…
• Dark-Skinned Blond: Naruto retains his tan in his superhero form.
• Dragon Lady: Snapdragon.
• Dramatic Irony: Both Naruto and Kira know about the bounty on their heads, but they don’t know that the other one knows and spend time toeing around the subject of actually bringing it up.
• Deadpan Snarker: Everything Kira says is this.
• Death Glare: Kira’s default expression.
• DefrostingIceKing: Kira.
• Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Kira, even though his paleness is a disguise.
• Elemental Armor: Naruto’s rock armour, which in actuality is just green reflective light covering his skin.
• Even A Jerk Has Loved Ones: Kira cares very much about his family.
• Exceptionally Tolerant: Despite the fact the villagers treated Kira and Naruto so horribly, or at least only Kira, they are very tolerant and the breaking point was that they were going to effectively kill their mother.
• Facial Markings: Naruto’s whisker birthmarks serve as this for his alter ego.
• Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Kira is this in a literal sense as he looks good, but his mind is filled with quite unpleasant thoughts.
• Family-Unfriendly Violence: Very unfriendly.
• Fatal Family Photo: The only photo that Naruto has proving that his parents loved him and they were a happy family was taken right before everything went to hell, costing him his father and put his mother in a coma.
• Fangs Are Evil: Kira’s Psychotic Smirk is made even more terrifying by his elongated canines.
• Feminine Women Can Cook: Subverted as Kira reveals that Kushina can’t make anything other than ramen.
• Final Speech: Couples in with Last Request as Kira relays that Minato said to him ‘I know you’ll do what’s right’ before he died.
• For Want of a Nail: And how!
• Friendless Background: Naruto and Kira when they were in Konoha.
• Glamorous Single Mother: Kushina.
• Glorified Sperm Donor: Kyuubi is treated like this and none of the Uzumaki’s call him Kira’s father because of it, or if they do it’s because they need to justify Kira being a half-demon.
• Good Parents: Minato, Kushina, and Kira’s birth mother.
• Half-Human Hybrid: Kira.
• Hates Everyone Equally: Kira tries to come off as this, but his clear affection for his brother and mother say otherwise.
• Hates Small Talk: Kira won’t say anything unless he has to.
• Healing Factor: Naruto is played straight, but Kira’s is Deconstructed with the fact that when he is Brought Down to Normal once a month, he is generally so tired that he can’t even eat without falling asleep at the table.
• The Hero: Naruto.
• Honorary Brother: Kakashi states that Kira was like a younger brother to Obito when thinking about how his teammates and sensei would be disappointed in him for abandoning Kira and Naruto.
• Hot Mom: It’s Kushina Uzumaki.
• Humans Are the Real Monsters: Kira certainly thinks so.
• Human Mom, Nonhuman Dad: Kira, as it goes in with his Half-Human Hybrid status.
• Humble Hero: Say what you want about Kira, he does though know what it’s like to raise yourself from the ground up and know better than to take things for granted.
• I'm a Humanitarian: Kira outright states that this is what demons see humans as. Fridge Horror kicks in about when Kira states he once bit someone, so you have to wonder that while he won’t kill people, what’s to stop him from taking bites out of them?
• It's All About Me: Averted hard in Kira’s case as everything he’s ever done was for Naruto.
• I Was Beaten by a Girl: Naruto downplays this after he loses to Iron Maiden during their first encounter, and takes from the fight that he couldn’t have beaten her anyway, but is willing to take another beating when he thinks that she has Peter to get to him.
• Knight Knave Squire: Peter (Knight), Kira (Knave), and Naruto (Squire).
• The Lancer: Kira is this too Naruto as while they do get along, Kira’s methods and personality are quite different.
• Loads and Loads of Characters: Not only are characters from Naruto included, but Canon Immigrant from the original main stream of Spider-Man too, so this is a definite qualifier.
• Mama Bear: Anko is stated to be something of this towards Kira, even though he plainly states early on that he doesn’t like her, but he does respect her.
• Men Can't Keep House: Subverted as Kira keeps his home very neat.
• Morality Pet: Naruto is this to Kira.
• No Sense of Humor: Kira.
• Not So Stoic: Kira’s blank mask will seldom fall to let real emotion seep onto his face.
• Orphanage of Fear: Kira states that his and Naruto’s time in the Konoha orphanage was horrible and that they kicked them out after a while.
• Orphan's Plot Trinket: The thing that gets Naruto on the road to being a costumed superhero is that the locket his brother gave him is stolen.
• Parental Substitute: Kira is like a father to Naruto, despite the fact their brothers, and not related.
• Perpetual Expression: Naruto always looks cheerful, and Kira always look dour.
• Perpetual Frowner: Kira.
• Perpetual Smiler: Naruto.
• Promotion to Parent: Kira becomes this to Naruto as well as being the Parental Substitute of a father for him.
• Protagonist-Centered Morality: Averted as while Kira has no problems with being an all-around jerk, he doesn’t go beyond that and only does it to people who deserved it.
• Rags to Royalty: Inverted since Kira is already royalty, he just grew up poor. The same inversion could also apply to Naruto if you count the fact his father was the Hokage.
• Rapunzel Hair: Kushina’s used to be this, reaching nearly to her ankles.
• Redheaded Stepchild: Kira was this to the whole damn village.
• Real Men Cook: Kira certainly can.
• Real Men Hate Affection: Kira doesn’t so much as hate it, he just has a hard time expression himself, but Naruto is a clear subversion of this.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: Naruto is cheerful and much more optimistic than Kira’s dark and calculating nature.
• Restored My Faith in Humanity: Brutally subverted as no matter how much Kira may show he cares about his family, he still hates humans.
• Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can: Kyuubi being sealed inside Naruto.
• Shrine to the Fallen: Both pictures of Minato and Kira’s birth mother are set on top of the fireplace so they can always be remembered.
• Spanner in the Works: Considering the fact that there was no Naruto universe crossover mixed in with the series, this is a certainty with the plot and how it turns out.
• Stronger Sibling: Kira to Naruto.
• Tall, Dark and Snarky: Kira’s disguised form has his normal brown hair, but he has gray eyes.
• Thicker Than Water: Subverted as Kira greatly loves his adoptive family and they love him just as much.
• Tsundere: Kira notes this about Sakura as he convinces Naruto that the girl just isn’t worth it when Team 7 returns from their mission to Wave.
  • Naruto: She’s great, she really is! Honest!
  • Kira: If that were true, then why do you let her hurt you?
  • Naruto: (weakly)She…she’s starting to like me?
  • Kira: Naruto…(pauses) you don’t hurt someone you like! That’s abuse, and it is not okay.
  • Naruto himself is rare male Type 2 variant, though a much milder case.
• Tsunshun/SugarAndIcePersonality: Kira.
• Trademark Favorite Food: Ramen for the Uzumaki’s.
• Undying Loyalty: Kira loves his brother and mother, arguably the only people he cares about, and this will not sway under any circumstances.
• Web Serial Novel: This fic is adapted into a comic format without the pictures for The Spectacular Spider-Man and Naruto.
• Widow Woman: Kushina.
• Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Kira tells Naruto just how stupid this is when the latter explains that he can’t hurt Sakura for hitting him.
• You Are What You Hate: A half example as Kira is shown to have an incredible amount of disdain toward humanity, yet he himself is half human, and the people who he cares about are also human. Justified in a way though as the acts of violence made against him and Naruto were committed by humans and humans were the ones who took the people he cared most for away from him.
