  • Alas, Poor Scrappy: Despite taking extreme levels in dumbass in later seasons, in Bye, Bye Kenan, you can easily feel sorry for Kel that his very best friend whom he loves being with so much, is moving to Montana permanently. Fortunately, Kel is able to make it to Montana, and gets to spend 2 more weeks in Montana, before moving back to Illinois where life in Montana now sucks!
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The series finale clip show in SPADES.
  • Cargo Ship: Kel loves orange soda.
  • Designated Hero: The titular characters, arguably, though their acts are usually balanced by karma.
  • Ear Worm: What 90's kid DIDN'T get the opening song stuck in their head from time to time?
  • Hilarious in Hindsight - When Kenan and Kel made a cameo in the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie, they made a joke about how their show wasn't gonna be canceled anytime soon after hearing about the toons' first show. Kenan and Kel was canceled three months before the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie was released.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Kenan's dad, especially in "Get the Kel Outta Here"
    • Kel also qualifies in the same episode as just a normal woobie considering he never intentionally wants to hurt anybody.
  • Memetic Mutation: * sigh* Seriously, TV Tropes? Who loves orange soda?
    • Kel loves orange soda!
      • Is it true?
        • Mmm-hmmmm I do, I do, I doo-oo!
          • Seriously, go up to anyone, anyone between the ages 16 and 24 and ask them that question. If they don't reply that Kel does, run, because they're obviously some evil alien/robot replacement.
    • Don't forget the time he....dropped a screw....in the tuna!
  • The Scrappy: Due to Flanderization, Kel in later seasons.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Kel gets it a few times in later seasons.
    • In "Car Trouble", he gets flicked in the eye by Kenan, after he puts his hands on Kenan's eyes while driving.
    • In The Movie, he gets shoved by Roger when his insensitive remarks interrupt Roger's comforting of Kenan, telling him that he wouldn't knowingly allow his son to go anywhere that's a major threat towards Kenan.
