Listing of characters in The Fairly Odd Parents and the tropes they go with. All characters have appeared at least twice.

Major Characters[]

Timmy Turner[]

File:Timmy Turner.gif
Cquote1
Cquote2

The main character, described as "an average kid who no one understands" in the theme song. Voiced by Tara Strong in the series. In the pilot, Timmy was voiced by Mary Kay Bergman from South Park. He was portrayed by Drake Bell in the live-action movie.

Cosmo Julius Cosma[]

File:Cosmo fop.jpg
Cquote1

"I'm not bright, big words confuse me, I have the attention span of a rodent and Wanda loves me anyway!"

Cquote2

Timmy's fairy godfather. Dumb as a sack of bricks, he can barely grant a wish by himself without causing mass chaos. Voiced by Daran Norris.

Wanda Venus Fairywinkle Cosma[]

File:Wanda fop.jpg
Cquote1

"Oh, shut up and kiss me, will you?"

Cquote2

Timmy's godmother. She's usually the one who sees the consequences of Timmy's wishes, but is often ignored for her very justified worry. Voiced by Susanne Blakeslee.

Poof Thomas Cosma[]

File:Poof fop.jpg
Cquote1

 "Poof, poof, poof."

Cquote2

Cosmo and Wanda's baby son, born at the start of the show's sixth season. Like his godbrother, voiced by Tara Strong.

Sparky[]

Timmy's Fairy Dog. Timmy ends up owning him at the beginning of Season

  • Absentee Actor: Sparky does not appear in Two and a Half Babies, Desperate Without Housewives, and Jerk of All Trades of Season 9.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In "Let Sleeper Dogs Lay".
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: He's completely absent from season 10, and season 9 is his only appearance in the series. This was because he was extremely unpopular, and due to this Nickelodeon wanted him to be cut off from the show.
  • Easily Forgiven: In Fairly OddPet, as shown below.
  • Karma Houdini: In Fairly OddPet where he causes all sorts of destruction and Timmy forgives him and still keeps him. This is one of the reasons why he's currently absent from the series, though the following episodes made him a more likable character.
  • Plot Hole/Continuity Snarl: The addition of Sparky brings on some continuity issues, such as Sparky not being there on the end of Channel Chasers (the same contradiction happened with Poof) and he not being on the live-action movies - A Fairly Odd Movie and A Fairly Odd Christmas - both taking place thirteen years after the events of the main series. In A Fairly Odd Movie, there is even a scene in which Wanda states that Timmy doesn't have a dog. The third movie, even after coming out after Sparky's inclusion, does not try to mention his existence.
  • Put on a Bus: After the ninth season.
  • Talking Animal: Unlike Timmy's godparents, Sparky is fine to talk to people sometimes. Anybody is fooled to think that he just "barks funny."
  • Team Pet: Of Timmy's fairy godfamily. Cool Pet for bonus points.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Is that weird barking dog walking on two legs sometimes while being around humans?
  • What Happened to the Dog?: It is unknown what happened to him after Man's Worst Friend and before The Big Fairy Share Scare, as he was not seen being taken back to the pet shop or leaving. He might have been given to another household due to the fairy shortage.

Chloe Carmichael[]

Chloe Carmichael is an enthusiastic, funny and over-achieving little girl who Timmy will have to share his fairies with. She's also Timmy's new neighbor. She first appears in Season 10. She is voiced by Kari Wahlgren

  • Alliterative Name: Much like Timmy Turner.
  • Always Someone Better: To Timmy.
  • BerserkButton Berserk Button: She does not like to quit or hear the word "quit". She even treats the word as if it's a swear word.
  • BewareTheNiceOnes Beware the Nice Ones: She may be nice and friendly to everyone but that she does have her limits.
    • When Jorgen first introduces himself to her by poofing into her room, she gets scared and takes him down.
    • In "Girly Squirrely", she completely loses it when all the Squirrely Scouts decide to give up on camping.
  • Broken Ace: Most people she knows see her as perfect, but she also seems to have really low-self esteem, as she easily feels upset about ruining everything whenever she just wants to help, and nobody wants to be her friend.
  • Broken Pedestal: In "The Fair Bears", when she wished for her favorite cartoon characters, the Fair Bears, were real, she was very excited to see them. But after she learned that they brainwashed Timmy and Wanda to force them to be happy, she immediately loses her love for them.
  • Butt Monkey: She becomes this during her time with Catman in "Whittle Me This".
  • Child Prodigy: She [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Omniglot knows 12 languages, including communicating with dolphins.
  • Cute Bruiser: When she first saw Jorgen, she Knocked him to the floor.
  • Demon Head: When warning Timmy never to touch her "Fair Bears" DVD set.
  • Deuteragonist: She becomes the second main character of the series after Timmy in the Tenth Season.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Despite her intent to help others, she doesn't think about the possible negative consequences of her actions. Her first wish was for everyone to share everything in Dimmsdale but this causes everyone to basically steal from others.
  • Expy: Her relationship with Timmy somewhat resembles Bart and Lisa's rivality from The Simpsons.
  • Genki Girl: Her official biography describe her as "an enthusiastic, funny and over-achieving little girl."
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She is blonde and essentially a Nice Gal.
  • Informed Flaw: The reason she's considered miserable enough for fairies is because her actions sometimes have unforeseen negative consequences, which allegedly leaves her friend-less... if you ignore the 100% Adoration Ratingthroughout her debut.
  • Intelligence Equals Isolation: Another of the reasons why she needs Cosmo and Wanda as her Fairy Godparents.
  • Invisible Parents: Chloe's parents are still yet to be revealed.
  • It's All About Me: Specifically during her birthdays, which she admits are the one day of the year when she puts herself before others, and proves to be as selfish and demanding as Timmy.
  • Naïve Newcomer: She has a lot to learn about having fairies and being apart of Timmy's adventures.
  • Nice Girl: She's very nice to everyone around her and everyone love her for that. So much so that she apparently won the Nobel Prize for Niceness.
  • Not So Different:
    • She can be just as selfish as Timmy when it comes to her birthday.
    • She can also make wishes that can lead to disaster like Timmy.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: After making her first wish for everyone to share, she loses her cool and niceness when someone towed her house around. Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda were surprised to see her like that.Chloe: (seeing her house being taken away) Hey! That's my house! That weirdo is stealing my house!
  • Parody Sue: A very blatant example. Besides knowing 12 languages, she has a Nobel Prize, the president's number, and all of Dimmsdale's admiration. Heavily downplayed after her debut.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: With Timmy.
  • Tsundere: Type B. She may be nice enough to claim a Nobel Prize for it, but it's made evident that she can have QUITE the dark side under certain circumstances. No episode demonstrates this better than "Birthday Battle."
  • Jerkass Ball: In "Sash and Rash" after wishing to become a slacked. Also in "Birthday Battle".
  • Unwanted Assistance: She often tries so hard that she gets ahead of herself, thinks without acting and can end up doing more harm than good. Because of that, she alienates everyone around her and has no friends, leaving her miserable enough to need fairies.

Vicky

File:Vicky fop2.jpg
Cquote1

"I don't mean to be mean all the time! I just am!!"

Cquote2

Timmy's malicious babysitter who takes delight in tormenting Timmy and the other children in Dimmsdale. Her two biggest loves are pain and money. Voiced by Grey DeLisle. Portrayed by Devon Weigel in the live-action movie.

Tootie[]

File:TootieFOP.jpg
Cquote1

"You're here? In my house? Hm, my Timmy-tracker must be malfunctioning."

Cquote2

Vicky's little sister who harbors an obsessive and unrequited crush on Timmy. Although he usually rejects her advances, Timmy has shown many times in the series to genuinely care for Tootie unlike any other non-fairy or family character, even loaning her his fairies on one occasion. According to the live action TV movie, she grows into a beautiful adult and Timmy falls in love with her. According to a quiz on the official movie website, Tootie named her first child "Tammy or Tommy", a subtly reference to Channel Chasers ending. Like her sister, she is voiced by Grey DeLisle, though in her first appearance she was voiced by Amber Wood. Daniella Monet portrayed her in the live-action movie.

  • Adorkable
  • Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Trixie's Veronica for Timmy's Archie.
  • The Big Damn Kiss: With Timmy in the live-action movie.
  • Braces of Orthodontic Overkill: Subverted.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: A trope Tootie partly fits in as she is somewhat clingy, although some people mistake Tootie for willing to commit acts of violence to get Timmy or get people away from him which has not actually ever happened. Tootie seems mostly oblivious or uncaring toward Timmy's other crushes.
  • All of the Other Reindeer
  • Depending on the Writer: Tootie is consistently written than other frequently appearing characters, since her character mostly revolves around her crush on Timmy. However, in some episodes, Tootie is more girly-like and is unwilling to hurt a fly, while in other episodes she has a more tomboyish and assertive personality.
  • Hair Decorations: She wears two blue hairbands to keep her pigtails up.
  • First Girl Wins: Assuming Vicky doesn't count, the plot of the live action movie and even some of Butch Hartman's posts/tweets/dialog on the movie suggest that Timmy was destined to fall in love with Tootie.
  • Girl in the Tower: In this Spanish comic.
  • Girl Next Door: She is considered a geeky yet sweet girl who lives near Timmy (literally and erroneously right next door to him in Merry Wishmas) but he does not return her affections at first, although Timmy does sympathize with her throughout the series and in The Live Action Movie in his adulthood he eventually falls in love with her.
  • Girlish Pigtails
  • Hidden Depths: Although at first appearing to be a happy and over excited, albeit nerdy girly girl, Tootie is shown to be just as neglected and miserable as Timmy at times. She has also shown unusual toughness in a few episodes.
  • Informed Flaw: She is said to "stalk" Timmy, although this has never actually adversely effected him in the series nor has been brought up as a major plot point.
  • Invincible Minor Minion: In the video game game Breakin' Da Rules!, she can kill the player in one hit and must be avoided.
  • Meganekko
  • Not Allowed to Grow Up: Not counting the live action movie, which takes place in her future
  • Only One Name
  • Plot Hole: She's obviously more miserable than Timmy is, and yet she somehow doesn't have fairy godparents.
    • Corrected by the live action movie, although with no mention of this plothole and arguably a little past when she really needed them (when she was actually living with Vicky).
  • Purple Eyes: According to this screenshot.
  • A Shared Suffering: Both she and Timmy have to put up with Vicky's torment.
  • She Is All Grown Up: In the live-action movie.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Her and Vicky. She loves Timmy and is nice, Vicky hates Timmy and is evil to the core.
  • Stalker Shrine: To Timmy.
  • Stalker with a Crush: On Timmy.
  • Sure Why Not: Many fans have wondered why Tootie has never gotten a fairy, or speculated that she may became beautiful later on. The live action movie shows that not only does she become a beauty, but she also meets Timmy's fairy family (with Timmy this time, and no mention of her "big mouth" being a problem).
  • Talking to Himself: She shares a voice actor with her sister.
  • Victorious Childhood Friend: In the live-action movie.

Parents[]

Cquote1

"I'm both respecting your privacy by knocking but asserting my authority as your (father/mother) by coming in anyway!"

Vicky and Tootie's parents, on the other hand, are nothing like Vicky, though their mom apparently used to be like Tootie in her youth according to the aforementioned video game.

  • Meaningful Name: Bucky McBadBat was the worst baseball player ever.
  • Missing Mom: Chester's mom and Trixie's mom are unaccounted for.

  • Parental Neglect: The Buxaplentys. Possibly worse that the Turners.
  • Plot Hole: The Buxaplentys show up in "Scary Godparents" despite being stranded on an island between "Fairy, Fairy, Quite Contrary" and "Remy Rides Again".
    • Maybe that episode took place after "Remy Rides Again"?
  • Talking to Himself: Delores to her son, Sanjay's stepdad to his stepson, Veronica's mom to her daughter.
  • Unnamed Parent: All of them except Bucky, Delores, and to an extent, Vicky's mom (according to her Early-Bird Cameo, her name is Nicky).

Cquote2

  • Celebrity Is Overrated: Hinted in his first appearance, apparently wakko fans holding him against his will is a common occurrence.
  • Doing It for the Art: Both Vicky and Timmy assume he's in it for the piles of cash. Turns out he cares more about his fans and his music than anything: he's broke and is totally happy about it. The only reason he cares about seeming to be rich is because he thinks his fans would be disappointed if they knew he was penniless.
  • Mr. Fanservice
  • Nice Guy: A plot point in his first episode. Timmy assumes that because he's a celebrity he'd be spoiled and a jerk, but instead he finds that Chip is an almost painfully nice guy who nearly goes into depression at the thought of disappointing his fans.
  • Even the Guys Want Him
  • Fake Shemp: His appearance in "Mind Over Magic" was done completely through voice clips.
  • Identical Grandson: His grandfather was the original Chip Skylark, also a singer.

The Darkness and the Eliminators[]

Cquote1

 "Timmy Turner..."

Cquote2

The villain of the "Wishology" trilogy, the Darkness is an ancient being that the fairies defeated thousands of years ago. Now he's returned with an army of robots known as the Eliminators. All are voiced by S. Scott Bullock, with the exception of the Lead Eliminator, who is instead voiced by Gary Sturgis.

  • Big Bad: The Darkness.
    • Until the Lead Eliminator transforms into the Destructinator and becomes at the very least another Big Bad
  • Big No: The Destructinator gets one after Timmy presses the detonator button that sets off all the bombs in the Earth...which he'd just absorbed.
  • Cool Shades: The Lead Eliminator.
  • The Dragon: The Lead Eliminator.
  • Healing Factor: The Elminators are able to repair themselves from a great deal of damage, including a few that were melted.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: The Lead Eliminator.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Noticeably more frightening than most other villains. And the Lead Eliminator is pretty serious and frightening himself.
  • Lotus Eater Machine: The Darkness uses one in "Wishology" Part III.
  • Mega Manning: The Eliminators (or at the very least, the Lead Eliminator) can suck anything into their mouths and copy it. This is how the Lead Eliminator undergoes a One-Winged Angel transformation into the Destructinator after eating an entire army's worth of weaponry launched into him.
  • Mooks: The Eliminators.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Subverted. The Darkness' rampage was only the result of it being attacked whenver it tries to make contact with a civilization. The Destructinator plays this straight though, being willing to obliterate the Earth to kill the Darkness and Timmy at the same time.
  • One-Winged Angel: The Lead Eliminator to The Destructinator.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Two eliminators wear pink shirts.
  • Planet Eater: The Darkness is pretty much a living Black Hole that can eat entire planets, stars, you name it.
  • Shout-Out: The Eliminators are an obvious reference to The Terminator. Their introduction in "Wishology" Part I essentially recreates the T-1000's introduction in T-2: Judgment Day.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: The Lead Eliminator is noticeably more competent than his comrades.
  • Talking to Himself
  • Dark Is Not Evil: It is revealed that all the things the Darkness does is the result of everyone attacking him first.
  • Heel Face Turn
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The Destructinator is destroyed when Timmy tricks him into absorbing the weapons he'd planted into the Earth to destroy the Darkness, then reveals he'd stolen the detonator and uses it to set them off and kill him.
  • Stalker with a Crush: All his actions in "Wishology" Part II and III are to capture Timmy and keep him forever, since he was the first creature to put something nice into him (i.e. light).
  • The Starscream: The Lead Eliminator, after deciding the Darkness' obsession with Timmy was getting in the way. While he never overthrows it, he does upgrade himself into the Destructinator and become a second Big Bad.
